[ Alina hadn't turned away when Adrien showed up at her door for several reasons. The big on was that he looked like he needed to talk.
The even bigger one was how the fuck did one get dressed for fancy dinner parties?
It wasn't that Alina had never been dressed nicely. Even her kefta was on the fancier side. She was the sun saint and lived in the palace and led an army and all sorts of things that involved her being dressed and proper. But usually she just had to don the clothes and the rest would sort of fall into place enough to be passing.
Tonight that wasn't quite the case. Tonight she held up the black, lace dress with the neckline that nearly touched her navel and grimaced. She had promised Nikolai she'd wear it, but she was starting to regret that promise. She could never pull it off, and she didn't have Genya or anyone else here to touch up her hair and make up to make her even close to pulling it off.
At least Adrien helped with that anxiety just by being there. ]
If I can't Cut them you can't shoot them. [ She answered him as she laid the dress down next to the one the CDC had provided, debating how disappointed Nikolai would be if she chose the less racy CDC one. ]
If I can Cut them, though, then please help with shooting them. Maybe we can get done faster that way.
[ She sighed and looked away from the dresses before her eyes bled from indecision and staring. ] Do you ever think the Instructors talk like this? I bet Dagger does.
Probably when I pushed Kotetsu into that trap... [ Woops. That still haunts her, obviously.
She holds up the black lace and frowns. ]
It'll fit right. It was made to my measurements.
Sturmhond brought it back when he was rewarded five hour furlough home to gather items. This was one of the things he got. Leave it to him to bring back a dress I have no idea how to wear.
That was right up there with my crashing the hoverbike, I'm sure.
[ Poor hoverbike, may it RIP somewhere in Sector R.
Looking at the scrap of black fabric in her hands, both of his eyebrows go up at the mention that Sturmhond specifically got it for her. He's not going to say anything and the expression is gone fairly quickly but there is a brief flash of fraternal mischief in his blue eyes as he makes obvious assumptions. ]
Well, once you get it on you should be fine. Just remember not to bend at the waist, keep your shoulders up and square and when you sit, knees definitely together.
[ There is a brief pause before he remarks. ]
You should probably also go for a complete updo, a dress like that is going to accent your neck and throat but you should at least pull your hair back and up from your face, if you want to leave it down.
[ He knows she's got a reserved streak, much like himself and a complete updo, along with that dress would be .. dramatic and definitely attention grabbing. ]
You'll also need heels. That should help with your shoulders.
late late late I'M SORRY

NP <3
[ He was sitting forward, watching her dither between the two different dresses. He pointed towards the black lace. ]
You're definitely going to turn heads in that one but you better hope it fits right. How did you end up with two anyway?
